Physics in Engineering course for current year 8

NHS Careers
The NHDs by far our largest employer with 1,432,000 employees in England (Tesco has 286,390). There are 315 separate organisations within the NHS in terms of employment i.e. they have their own recruitment system. 10% of the staff are doctors/dentists, 30% nurses/midwives, 5% scientists, 5% allied health professionals and the rest in a range of occupations, such as electricians and property managers. From September, students applying for an allied health profession (e.g. physiotherapy) will get their fees paid and receive a £1000 bursary. They are also eligible for a means tested bursary. The website www.nhscareers.nhs.uk contains a wealth of careers information, as well as the coursefinder site ( http://www.ukcoursefinder.com/ )which details approved university courses and has a useful section on what you can do with your degree.

LNAT update
The current information about LNAT registation relates to the current year. For applicants starting university in Autumn 2013 the website will be updated after June 30. However, LNAT confirm that they expect the dates to be the same, so you just add a year to dates. That means registration opens after 1 August 2012 for 2013 entry. http://www.lnat.ac.uk/lnat-registration/law-admissions-test.aspx contains more info on the dates. NB the dates for Oxford are different than for the other universities. Local engineering opportunities for year 12
the organisation http://www.stemcymru.org.uk/en/index.php offer YINI which is a year in industry prior to commening university. Year 12 need to apply for this shortly if they are considering this beginning summer 2013. Also, during the summer, Bangor, Cardiff, Glyndwr & Glamorgan University offer 3 day Headstart residential programmes. Applications need to be in asap for these courses at only £55 each.
